Simpsonville Mud Mania

Hello Y'all! Today has been an exciting day so far--full of fun and adventure.  Why?  Well, because today was the Simpsonville Mud Mania and Havi and I, along with some friends, participated.  So what is the Simpsonville Mud Mania?? I'm so glad you asked! It's a 5k race.........with 24 obstacles..........in the mud! Yeaup, you read that right--in the mud. Boy was it fun!!!

Our team (aptly called "The Hobbits")-- Sarah Kelly, Chloe, Havi and I--pre-race.  The morning dawned cold and rainy so we were already pretty damp before even starting.

And off they go!

The course was 3.5 miles (give or take a little) and included obstacles such as: climbing dirt mounds, crawling in trenches filled with water, swimming through deeper trenches, crawling under an Army jeep, crawling under logs, walking over logs, climbing steep mud hills, scaling a 10 ft. wall, and a large water slide--to name a few. It took us about an hour and a half to complete, considering we walked most of it hehe.
