Musical Monday

Today I'd like to share one of my favorite favorite hymns.  Nearer My God to Thee has long been my favorite hymn for many reasons.  I remember my mother and brother, Camilo, singing it when I was little, I have played it many times on the violin and piano with friends, and each time it grows sweeter.  The words are so poignant and should be the prayer of all God's children.  Plus the tune name is Bethany : ) So it's special that way too. May it bless you today as we all strive to be nearer to Him.

Title: Nearer My God to Thee
Arranged by: The Piano Guys
Genre: Sacred Instrumental
Performed by: Steven Sharp Nelson

Nearer, my God, to Thee
 Nearer to Thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me.
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee!

Though like the wanderer,
The sun go down,
Darkness be over me,
My rest a stone,
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee!

There let the way appear,
Steps unto heav'n ;
All that thou sendest me,
In mercy giv'n;
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee!

Then with my waking thoughts
Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs,
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer to Thee!

Or, if on joyful wing
Cleaving the sky,
Sun, moon, and stars forgot,
Upward I fly,
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God to Thee
Nearer to Thee!

Musical Monday

For today's musical post I decided to share a song that we enjoy listening to on hot summer days when driving down the road with my dad, the windows rolled down and our sunglasses on ; )
It's just a fun piece and I hope y'all enjoy.

Musical Monday

I first heard this song at a service at Hampton Park. I loved it immediately and it has continued to bless us.  It is so encouraging to know that even when we seem to be alone God never forsakes us.  This hymn has been especially sweet in the last few weeks as we have been dealing with trials in our family.  If you can please pray for me and my family, and particularly my older brother and his family.  God is so good and He is breaking us, so that He might remake us in His image.

Title: I'll Never Forsake You
Composers/Writers: David L. Ward
Genre: Hymn
Performed by: The Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team

O soul, are you weary from wave upon wave
Of grief and affliction whom no man can save?
Has sickness surrounded, or unending night?
Uncertainty stolen your joy and your might?

O doubting, o fearful– remember His care,
The helpless and hopeless need never despair
For from your afflictions His glory shall spring–
The deeper your sorrow, the louder you'll sing!
Remember Your father– His promise, His love:

Chorus:
"I'll never forsake you, this pain will not break you,
For I will remake you for unending joy;
My promise is faithful though now it is painful;
No power can trample my covenant love."

Remember your Savior– His grief and His pain,
The lonely affliction, unmerited shame.
Though you had betrayed Him, He died in your place;
The joy set before Him He offers by grace.
Remember Your father– His promise, His love:

Chorus:
"I'll never forsake you, this pain will not break you,
For I will remake you for unending joy;
My promise is faithful though now it is painful;
No power can trample my covenant love."

Musical Monday

Hope you enjoy todays musical post.  I love listening to this song with my family and my prayer is that it will be a blessing to you today.

Title: The Mission/How Great Thou Art
Arranged by: Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson
Genre: Hymn, Classical, Popular Instrumental
Performed by: The Piano guys

O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works Thy hand hath made.
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Refrain:Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
(Repeat Refrain.)

And when I think that God, His Son not sparing,
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
(Repeat Refrain.)

When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art!
(Repeat Refrain.)

Musical Monday

I first heard this song several years ago but it still continues to bless me.  It's so encouraging to be reminded that God's mercies are new every day- no matter what! WOW! I hope it blesses y'all today.

Title: Mercies Anew
Composers/Writers: Mark Altrogge and Bob Kauflin
Genre: Hymn
Performed by: The Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team

Every morning that breaks
There are mercies anew
Every breath that I take
Is your faithfulness proved
And at the end of each day
When my labors are through
I will sing of Your mercies anew

When I’ve fallen and strayed
There were mercies anew
For you sought me in love
And my heart you pursued
In the face of my sin
Lord, You never withdrew
So I sing of Your mercies anew

CHORUS
And Your mercies, they will never end
For ten thousand years they’ll remain
And when this world’s beauty has passed away
Your mercies will be unchanged

And when the storms swirl and rage
There are mercies anew
In affliction and pain
You will carry me through
And at the end of my days
When Your throne fills my view
I will sing of Your mercies anew
I will sing of Your mercies anew
